Creative blocks game gets new release with multiplayer, support, better graphics & more.
Just last week we had we had a slow-mo blast playing Stacks, a creative game for the Oculus Rift which lets players arrange and stack blocks which are mirrored on both on a miniature table the larger world around them. It’s simple gameplay rules makes creating inventive shapes and layouts easy, while the ability to enable gravity and watch the giant blocks tumble and fall is surprisingly satisfying.
Now there’s a much improved version of the game for players to enjoy. It adds the ability save and share worlds, enabling collaborative building with others players, first-person exploration of those worlds, the ability to snap blocks to grids and improves the graphics with textured blocks and environmental meshes. In all, it’s a vast improvement that adds even more depth and wonder to the game. Here’s the full change-log:
Changes:
- Snap to grid building
- Textured blocks
- New meshes (trees, foliage, columns, ramps)
- First person exploration
- Ability to save and share worlds (very excited about this, let us know when you create something cool!)
- Multiplayer and collaborative building
- Voice chat
- New start screen – WITH EXPLOSIONS
- Regular monitor (2D) support
