VR Karts gets new demo for Oculus Rift

New demo adds customisation features, multiplayer support and better graphics.

When we first checked out the VR Karts demo we were impressed by its colourful graphics, simple controls and friendly atmosphere. Inspired by the Mario Kart series, it brings arcade-kart racing to the Oculus Rift, with charming characters and power-ups to boot. Nine months later and there’s a brand new demo, with multiplayer support, AI improvements and much more.  You’ll find the full change-log below…

Steam Early Access PC game:

  • Online Multiplayer – Supports up to 8 Players per room
  • Upgraded Graphics
  • New FTUE / Tutorial – Allows players new to VR Karts to get accustomed to the controls before racing
  • AI Improvements
  • Additional Audio
  • Subtitles Added
  • A brand new “Customise” area has been added to the game allowing players to create their own unique Kart and Racer

  • Kart colours
  • Helmet Colours
  • Racer colours
  • Boost Trail colour
  • Horns (to taunt your opponents)
  • Racer Props
  • Helmet props (E.g. Hats and Boppers)
  • Visor Props (Sunglasses etc)

You can grab the latest demo by heading over to The Rift Arcade Market or Steam Early Access. For anyone who has yet to check out its charming gameplay and colourful graphics then it’s definitely worth a download. Hopefully we won’t have long to wait before more levels and available to check out.
