It’s happening!!!
Today at Oculus Connect, a Microsoft representative announced that the Windows 10 version of Minecraft will be updated in spring 2016 to support the Oculus Rift headset. While the announcement didn’t exactly make the crowds go wild, it’s a clear sign that Microsoft has confidence in both virtual reality and the Oculus Rift, and one which means a vast swatch of gamers will be introduced to the Rift.
We’re rather excited to see Minecraft released for the Rift. Sure, it’s one of the most recognised and played games in history, but it’s sheer creativity, colour and atmosphere should make it one heck of a fun experience on the Rift.
You can get a taster of the Rift version by checking out Minecrift, which has been available for quite some time already. It’s worth noting that it doesn’t work on Windows 10 or the latest SDK, but for anyone who hasn’t upgraded yet it’s definitely worth a look.
